Meet Maddie, daughter of Jimmy and Jennifer, who is in the sixth grade at Atherwood Elementary. Maddie is a part of Simi Valley’s Gotta Dance Academy and enjoys competitive dance as an extra-curricular activity. Maddie has received bowling scholarships (not to be reckoned with!) and has been named Dance Grand Champion on more than one occasion. This 11 year old has helped her community by raising money for a local Simi Valley Police Department injured officer Carney in 2016. Maddie is returning to compete in the Miss Simi Valley Days competition after being named Petite Miss Simi Valley Days in 2016. “This contest is really important to me because it was such an amazing experience before and I loved being involved in the community”, Maddie says when asked why this competition is important to her.

Meet Emma, daughter of Jon and Steph. “I like to make people smile through song and dance, making new friends and I like to help people through bad times”, Emma told us and her personality exemplifies all of of these! Emma attends White Oak Elementary as a 5th grader and at 10 years old she has played the lead role in a production at Christmas for Shepherd Church, and has won an integrity award at school. She’s an avid dancer, singer, and enjoys acting in her spare time. We asked her why this competition is important to her, “The contest is important to me because it helps the community and it also makes the community stronger”, she said. And we couldn’t agree more, so come support these girls, see their talents and listen to them answer some interview questions on April 21st.

SQ Portraits – Photography is excited to be participating in this event and supporting our community and these girls.
